AKWA IBOM STATE: New face of Uncommon Developmental Strides

Akwa Ibom state is a fast growing economic hub, tourism destination and a bustling cosmopolitan city in Africa.

She is indeed blessed with vast natural resources such as crude oil deposits and other solid minerals making her the Nigerian ‘state’ with the most oil wells. This corroborates the reason why the state slogan is themed “Land of Promise”.

She boasts of numerous basic amenities and infrastructures that are necessary for the smooth running of any organization, region or country at large. She has good road networks well supplemented with highly sophisticated bridges and flyovers; hospitality industries that cater for the wellbeing of its citizenry (and foreigners alike). There are plethora of fascinating and irresistible tourists attractions scattered across the state.

  

The power and gas sector is functional with adequate power generation and gas supplies for business and other ventures to thrive. The major means of survival of her people is ‘Agriculture’ and the government is blazing the trail in their quest to eliminate hunger and poverty in the land through provision of credit schemes, subsidization of farm machineries and other prerequisites for prospective farmers to help boost commercialization of agricultural produce.

With the implementation and enforcement of the ‘free and compulsory education’ policy; the state is obviously gaining grounds with almost every child being enrolled in schools. She also boasts of indigenes that are outstanding erudite, scholars and great personalities and has held their own in their various fields of endeavour both locally and internationally.

Akwa Ibom state is an emerging Information and Communication and Technology giant. The Aviation sector is quite booming with state-of-the-art facilities that can stand the test of time as well as match up with its kind anywhere in the world.

She is also not lagging behind in the sporting world as she brags of a world-class Olympic-size stadium and several functional stadia that accommodate variety of sporting events in major cities of the state.

One major achievement that every visitor to the state will attest to; is the transformation evident in ‘Rural Development’ and of course, ‘Urban Renewal’.

The exploits of the “Uncommon Transformation Agenda” and the “Dakkada Creed” initiatives has boosted the morale of its teeming youths (and populace) to aspire and ‘rise to greatness!’

It is noteworthy to opine categorically that; in no distant time, Akwa Ibom state will outrightly outpace her contemporaries as a major force to reckon with in terms of Developmental Strides.

The common slang “Akwa Ibom Ayaya!” and “Akwa Ibom Ado OK!” which translates “Akwa is Beautiful!” and “Akwa Ibom is Okay!” respectively, tells it all.
